Replacing a Defective Device without Chip Card (PROFINET)

In case of damage to the ASi Slave Bihl+Wiedemann recommends the use of a replacement unit with the same article number to avoid any difficulties and downtimes in the production process when setting up a new unit.

 

By using an identical item as a replacement for a defective device, the configuration data can be transferred by simply exchanging the chip card. The replacement device is then immediately ready for use.

Connect the ASi networks to the newly set gateway and switch to the 'QUICK SETUP' menu to store the current configuration of the ASi networks.


The function 'QUICK SETUP' enables a simple and quick configuration of all ASi networks connected to the ASi gateway:

  • STORE+RUN
    Saves the current configuration of the connected ASi slaves as a target configuration and switches the gateway into protected operating mode.
  • STORE+PRJ MODE
    Saves the current configuration of the connected ASi slaves as a target configuration and switches the gateway into configuration mode.
