New 48 V Brake Chopper Reliably Limits Voltage Feedback

The new BWU4969 48 V brake chopper is now available. It extends our product portfolio for drive technology and material handling – and has comparable advantages to the BWU4915 24 V brake chopper.

The 48 V brake chopper is also extremely flat and suitable for use in cable ducts. However, it now limits the overvoltage generated during braking when operating 48 V roller drives – while its counterpart does the same for 24 V drives. In both application scenarios, it helps to avoid unwanted network shutdowns or error messages due to overload.

Easy On-Site Diagnostics & Simple Installation

Like the 24 V version, every 48 V brake chopper can compensate the overvoltage of at least 2 motorized rollers simultaneously, and in most cases, even more. To enable quick local diagnostics, all brake chopper models have two integrated LEDs that indicate the correct voltage flow and active compensation of fed-back energy. Moreover, the ASi piercing technology makes it very easy to connect the brake choppers to the corresponding AUX profile cable.
