DeviceNet Fieldbus system
What is DeviceNet?
DeviceNet is an open fieldbus standard that was developed by Rockwell Automation and is used in industrial automation. It is based on the CAN bus (Controller Area Network). DeviceNet enables communication between devices from different manufacturers without special interface adaptations. The fieldbus standard is typically used for safety installations, in information exchange and in large input/output control units. DeviceNet is particularly widespread in the USA and Asia.
DeviceNet ASi Gateways
DeviceNet ASi-3 Gateways in stainless steel provide an interface for a DeviceNet fieldbus. These ASi gateways are available in various versions with IP20 protection rating. All product variants offer access to the ASi master and safety monitor via Bihl+Wiedemann's own software using an adapter cable via the RS 232 interface. One gateway has integrated data decoupling.

The DeviceNet Master Simulator is an easy to use software for data exchange with DeviceNet devices of many suppliers. The DeviceNet Master Simulator can exchange data with the devices even without EDS-file. Input data can be read and output data written and diagnostic functions can be displayed without further input or additional files. In addition, attributes can of course also be read and written with the DeviceNet master simulator. It is also possible to search a complete DeviceNet line for connected devices. Addressing and setting the baud rate of the DeviceNet node is also possible. The I/O data is displayed in hexadecimal and binary format.
In single bit mode it is possible to set an output as long as the mouse button is pressed. The device identification is read out of the DeviceNet device and displayed together with the I/O data.
The DeviceNet dongle is included in the scope of delivery of the DeviceNet Master Simulator. The DeviceNet dongle is the ideal interface converter between an USB port (the parallel interface of a PC) and DeviceNet. The dongle is very compact and is powered via USB (from the keyboard interface of the PC). Therefore it is also suitable for mobile use with a laptop or a notebook.
